K-9

Sasha, a K-9 unit puppy, has been welcomed into the team thanks to a very generous woman who donated the puppy for her birthday.

Johannesburg, South Africa – The Angel Network shared a beautiful post celebrating a new addition to K-9 unit lead by Superintendent Mahomed.

The Angel Network was started to give a hand up to orphaned and vulnerable children in South Africa by assisting with food, clothing, housing and education. Today they support hundreds of individuals and charitable organisations, giving a better chance at life in South Africa.

They threw a welcome party to introduce Sasha to Superintendent Mahomed.

It all started around ten days ago when Penelope Stein, an active member of the Angel Network, decided to celebrate her birthday in a meaningful way. She decided to donate Sasha to the K-9 unit as her birthday celebration.

“I will purchase the dog (my birthday present) but need to ensure that he is fed, maintained and taken great care of . Just like he protects us, we need to protect him. The officer has his eye on a healthy German Shepard puppy, he is a huge dog lover and let’s do some good together.

I will make sure that every cent donated goes towards the maintenance of our new boy in the K-9 unit. Will keep you posted on how he reacts when he hears he’s getting his new companion.” – Penelope Stein

After Penelope put her birthday wish forward, fellow supporters donated food and so much more, not only for Sasha, the puppy but for the other dogs in the K-9 unit as well.

They threw a party for Penelope for her birthday, and everyone got to meet Sasha for the first time. The Angel Network also handed over all the donations as well.

Take a look at the party pictures below.
