The Viva Cantare Choir in Stellenbosch is delivering 60 cupcakes to their local Mediclinic each week to thank the medical staff working to save lives during the pandemic.

Stellenbosch, South Africa (25 January 2021) – The Viva Cantare Choir has gone above and beyond to support the medical staff at their local Mediclinic. The choir has put together funds to deliver 60 cupcakes to doctors, nurses, porters and more each week.

They are calling their project “Noot in Nood”. They reached out to the Stellenbosch Mediclinic to ask if they could deliver cupcakes for the staff at the hospital.

The cupcakes are being baked and decorated by one of the choir members and funded by the whole choir.

The choir wants the front-line medical workers to know that they do not stand alone.

“Words cannot describe how we appreciate you. 2020/2021 certainly belongs to each of you. Thank you for your selfless service. We are grateful that your loved ones allow you to look after our loved ones. We admire your knowledge, empathy, and sympathy towards every COVID-19 patient. Viva Cantare Choir stands behind you and we want to carry you in love and in gratitude. You don’t stand alone in this horrible pandemic, we see you. THANKS!”

The general manager of the Stellenbosch Mediclinic reached out to share their thanks for the care and support being offered by the choir members.

Dear Viva Cantare

On behalf of Mediclinic Stellenbosch, I would like to sincerely thank you for your wonderful “Noot for Nood” project! Your generosity has come as a timely reminder of the value we place in our community, and the significant role we have in supporting them. Once again, many thanks from all the appreciative healthcare recipients and we wish you a safe and healthy 2021 for all within the Stellenbosch community.

Kind regards
Carol van Zyl
