A Capetonian has inspired thousands of South Africans after performing a random act of kindness in a shopping centre parking lot on Christmas Eve.
Margarethe De Cafmeyer added a post to Facebook after being inspired by the random act of kindness which is being shared rapidly on social media.
A woman had walked out of the Eden Shopping Centre in Cape Town with a full trolley of groceries and handed it all to the car guards in the car park.
Margarethe thought the woman was brave for doing her shopping the day before Christmas but started crying when she realised what was happening.
“This made my day:
Just watched a lovely lady walk out of the Eden shopping center, trolley full of shopping and thought to myself: that‘s brave, buying shopping on the last day before the shops close and imagined the Christmas meal she would be making…
But it’s not what it looks like, the car guard isn’t about to push that trolley to her car, he’s not about to load her Christmas shopping into her boot.
I cried watching.
I wanted to run up to her as she left – wanted to say something to her, but I didn’t.
If this post finds you, thank you for making my day! It was beautiful, thought-provoking, hope-inspiring and moving to watch.”
