Tasreeq Doovey, a student at Windsor High School in Lansdowne has received a massive blessing from his community after being robbed during a seizure.

Cape Town, South Africa (11 September 2020) – Students at Windsor High School in Lansdowne made headlines earlier this week for being best humans in the world! Tasreeq Doovey from Hanover Park was robbed while he was having a seizure. The robbers took advantage of Tasreeq in his most vulnerable moment to gain from him. It was an act so violating we can only imagine how Tasreeq must have felt when he recovered.

According to Radio 786, Tasreeq lives with his mother and siblings, helping her financially by working over the weekends. Every bit of money he makes goes towards housing and feeding them. There isn’t much left over for luxuries like a new phone or a matric jacket.

This is where Tasreeq’s classmates stepped in! The class heard about him being robbed and knew his situation so everyone clubbed in to raise money for a new phone. Once the had the money, they had a bit extra and also bought him a matric jacket.

The class surprised Tasreeq with the new phone and jacket, leaving him and many of his classmates in tears. This incredible act has shown that for every ounce of bad in the world, there is double that and then some in good! If you missed that incredible video, take a look below.

If the video left many people wanting to do more too so a crowdfund was started for Tasreeq to help lighten his load. Roxanne Carter, who shared the video, set the goal to raise R55,000 to go towards groceries, electricity, transport and data. Roxanne’s son is Tasreeq’s friends and she knows first-hand of his life and struggles.

The crowdfund went beyond what anyone imagined and just over double was raised for Tasreeq. This will change his life for the better. He will now be able to give up his job and focus full-time on his final weeks of matric.

We are in awe of how people came together! A team of medical professionals reached out to Good Things Guy as well, offering to help Tasreeq treat his seizures. Together we are so much stronger!!!
