These amazing South African companies are making a huge difference to the lives of people affected by the Knysna Fire, they are making fantastic donations!

 

Companies such as Spur, Pick n Pay and large charities such as “Gift of the Givers” are making massive donations towards the people affected by the Knysna Fire.

Spur sent a truck to supply people with 2000 burgers! The KFM Breakfast team spoke to Pierre Van Tonder, CEO of Spur.

“Spur truck will be at Knysna Vineyard church to supply 2 000 burgers for those in need. George, Riversdale and Mossel Bay Spur please spread the word to all you know who needs food & share on Facebook.” – Knysna Fires 7th June

Pick n Pay have created an option on their online shopping website for people to donate groceries directly to affected area’s. Shoppers can do an essential shop and select a drop-off zone. The purchased goods will be distributed to victims of the Knysna Fire and the Cape Storm. On checkout, select “Add New Collection Point”, click on the Western Cape on the map, and choose where you want your donation to go.

“Wonderful initiative from Pick n Pay whereby you can shop online & goods will be delivered directly to Knysna for relief so no matter where you are you can help. You can also donate your smartshopper points.” – Knysna Fires 7th June

Gift of the Givers has committed to delivering water to Knysna.

“Our warehouses were ready, additional supplies were being sent from Johannesburg. The first such delivery of bottled water destined for Cape Town is now re-routed to Knysna and is a few hours away from the town.”

“Shoprite South Africa, WOOLWORTHS SA, Massmart have already come forward to assist us both in Cape Town and Knysna. We awaiting feedback from disaster centre in both these regions as to the exact requirements for those affected”

Skynet Worldwide Express has offered free delivery of donations from any of its branches in South Africa to Knysna.

“Knysna Fires Update: Eden District Municipality say they have enough firefighting equipment. They now desperately need food, clothing, toiletries, blankets etc.”

“These can be dropped at the Eden District Fire Station in George or any SkyNet branch, for transportation to where it is needed.”
