Hugh and Michelle were so moved by officer Molope and his efforts; they named their son after him. Today, Johnathan Moses Raichlin is a happily married man, but it was what transpired at his wedding two weeks ago that has everyone talking!

Johannesburg, South Africa – 23-years-ago, Officer Moses Molope escorted a couple to the hospital where they hoped to welcome their third child. Hugh and Michelle Raichlin rushed to the hospital and met officer Moses along the way. The couple were panicking as they were trapped by traffic.

Officer Molope did his very best to get them to the hospital in time, but fate intervened. While they were pulling into the parking lot, Michelle started giving birth. Their son, Johnathan, was born on the passenger seat of the family car with the assistance of officer Molope.

Hugh and Michelle were so moved by officer Molope and his efforts; they named their son after him. Today, Johnathan Moses Raichlin is a happily married man, but it was what transpired at his wedding two weeks ago that has everyone talking!

Officer Moses Molope had been in touch with the family for the first three years of Johnathan’s life. After that, they lost contact and it was only recently they were reunited.

Hugh Raichlin, a lawyer, asked staff to assist him in tracking Moses down. They had just three weeks to find him before his son was due to be married. Through their efforts, Moses was discovered and invited to join the family once again at the wedding.

They learned he has since retired from police work and now works in the security industry. When Moses got the invitation, he pulled out his old uniform to wear to the wedding.

The surprise was revealed during the speeches. Hugh created a slideshow featuring all the front page covers in the news and explained the history of Johnathan’s name. Johnathan was touched by the speech but couldn’t understand why his father was solely focused on it.

“He was going on and on and he kept talking about them and I was sitting there thinking ‘this is beautiful dad but where are you going with this?’ I didn’t understand but I was enjoying it,” – Johnathan Moses Raichlin

While the speech was being made, Moses crept up and approached the main table.

“I jumped out of my seat and ran up to him and I gave him a huge hug. I was overjoyed to see him especially 23 years after he helped bring me into the world,”

“To be able to pay him the respect that he deserved, to thank him and for him to see what his actions all those years ago led to.

“It was very powerful and a beautiful moment that I don’t think I’ll ever forget,”

The pair embraced and moved many to tears. It was a beautiful reunion to witness and they have once again made the news. The story is one that continues to warm hearts even after all these years.
