Nkazimulo is a bright and motivated pupil with big dreams! His stellar marks and class participation are direct results of the strong foundation he received at a Cotlands early childhood development centre.
Turffontein, South Africa (07 February 2025) – More than just an organisation, Cotlands has come to be a beacon of hope, providing a strong foundation for children to thrive.
Working towards making South Africa a more equal society, Cotlands focuses on increasing access to play-based early learning opportunities for young children, especially in underserved communities.
One example of the profound impact of these early childhood development centres is Nkazimulo, a Grade 3 student from Turffontein, Johannesburg. This little man dreams of becoming a soccer star, with aspirations to also serve his community as a police officer or doctor. And judging by his classroom performance, he’s well on his way to achieving any of those goals!
Achieving impressive marks on his tests and class assessments, Nkazimulo is a star pupil whose future looks bright thanks to the strong start he received thanks to Cotlands.
His teacher, Ms Morwe, notes that while initially shy, Nkazimulo has blossomed into a confident and engaged pupil. He takes initiative, actively participates in class, diligently completes his work, and helps his classmates.
“The impact that Cotlands had on Nkazimulo is academic confidence!” Ms Morwe exclaims.
His mother, Claudina Dlamini, also agrees, sharing that Nkazimulo and his younger sister Khanyise are excelling at school because of Cotlands.
This young boy’s story further underscores Cotlands’ impact on children over the past 88 years, giving them the tools to thrive in school and life!
