A kind-hearted delivery driver, Sam, went above and beyond to make a woman’s birthday extra special.

South Africa (04 September 2024) – One local delivery guy brightened a woman’s day by delivering an expected birthday surprise for her at her office.

The sweet video was shared on TikTok by a young woman named Cherize Rossouw Odendaal (@cherizerossouwodendaal) who explained that she lives too far from her mother but still wanted to do something special to celebrate her on her birthday.

So, Cherize ordered some goodies on Woolworths Dash and had the delivery guy, Sam, drop them off at her mother’s office. Sam sang for her mother on behalf of the family, who couldn’t be there in person.

Singing his heart out was Sam as he handed over the package to Cherize’s mother who couldn’t help but blush at the heartwarming surprise.

“Delivery drivers are the kind of people that hold South Africa together. Birthdays are incredibly special to us and this year we couldn’t celebrate with my mom because we moved to Cape Town.

“I had the idea of sending her a mini cake and some bubbly, and thought I might as well ask the driver to sing for her if they want to – the worst they could do is say no. I left a delivery note with the order to ask, and it wasn’t 5 minutes before Sam phoned me, saying he would definitely sing for my mom! He even sent updates as he went along,” shared Cherize in the post.

Sam made it possible for Cherize to make her mom feel special and loved on her birthday from 1,500 km away. What a special moment to witness as South Africans!
