Pet food, that was the only thing Hunter Esterhuizen wanted for her 6th birthday and she was given exactly that, but it wasn’t for her… it was for her local SPCA.

Howick, KwaZulu-Natal – Hunter Esterhuizen was about to turn 6-years-old and every time someone asked her what she would like for her birthday, she would answer, pet food.

You see, Hunter wanted to turn her birthday into a good deed and help feed the animals living at the Umngeni SPCA. This wasn’t the first time she did this either, according to the SPCA she also made a big donation for her 5th birthday.

“Hunter Esterhuizen celebrated her sixth birthday and asked for pet food instead of presents! She donated it all to our precious animals! She did the same on her fifth birthday. What a generous and heartwarming gesture. Thank you, Hunter!”

Thoughtful little Hunter has inspired so many people with her birthday donation. Her mother Kayleen said they are very proud of their daughter’s good heart.

In a response to the SPCA’s post on Facebook, Kayleen shared how happy Hunter was to do the good deed. It’s an absolute pleasure! Her love for animals is out of this world and she was extremely happy to do it!”

Thank you for caring for animals in distress Hunter. Well done to your Dad and Mum for instilling such strong values in you.” – Edith Powell

“What a very kind girl you are Hunter and an example to all of us for thinking of others on your own very special day. Thank you.” – Adi Olivier
