From Domestic Worker to Graduate! This incredible woman is inspiring all South Africans!

This incredible graduate is inspiring all South Africans!

Ntombizodwa Merriam Mahlangu posted a photo on Thursday, 13 December that is inspiring all South Africans who see it!

“This is the story of my life and it shall be a lesson to my descendants. The moment you understand and appreciate your background… God provides you with wisdom to make the difference.

Do not blame anyone for your past or present but grab whatever opportunity that comes your way to better your future. Its never too late!”

9 years ago Mahlangu was working as a domestic worker for Eleanor De Villiers, a woman who saw the potential in the incredible South African and decided to help her pursue her dream of becoming a graduate!

Just a few weeks before her post went viral, Mahlangu thanked her “other” mother who helped her get to where she is today!

“It’s chooseday and I choose you mother. I was your employee at first; but later became your daughter whom you loved and supported no matter the circumstances.

If it wasn’t for your financial assistance on my first course that opened doors for me, I wouldn’t be holding this BA degree.

I wish the whole world could know about your kindness and the difference you’ve made in my life. You are dearly loved.”

Her story has been trending on social media inspiring many South Africans who have seen it. The post even got the attention of Professor Thuli Madonsela who shared the story with her 1 million followers!
