Tiana-Leigh was in need of life-changing medical equipment. Her mother called CapeTalk to plea for assistance, within minutes a donor pledged to help.
Tiana-Leigh is a little warrior child, at just 11-years-old she has survived cancer alongside having a lung condition that requires she be on permanent oxygen. The sweet little Capetonian radiates love and joy, so her mother called CapeTalk to make a desperate plea for assistance in enhancing her life.
Tiana-Leigh requires a permanent oxygen and a lung machine to live a normal life. Her mother, Alta Smith, had an inverter installed into her car as Tiana-Leigh cannot go without oxygen for more than 45 seconds. The mobile inverter allowed Tiana-Leigh to venture from home and see the world around her. Sadly it was stolen which meant that she couldn’t leave home.
During the CapeTalk interview with Pippa Hudson, she made a plea for assistance in bettering Tiana-Leigh’s life and the listeners made it happen!
A donor came forward and pledged to cover the full cost of the new medical equipment. He decided to remain anonymous to the listers as well as the family. The medical equipment costs around R 4000.00, a sum that the family couldn’t cover alone.
This act of kindness left the family in tears of joy. Tiana-Leigh will now be able to continue her life’s work of inspiring others, advocating awareness for her cause and visiting animal shelters to give love to the animals.
