dreamer

Charl, the lastest dreamer from the Reach For A Dream Foundation had all his dreams come true in one day thanks to generous donors.

Cape Town, South Africa – Over the last few months Petrol Attendants have been in the spotlight for a just being downright amazing people! Charl, a 10-year-old from Cape Town thinks that not only are petrol attendants awesome people, but the whole concept of petrol stations too.

Charl a dreamer from the Reach For A Dream Foundation, got his wish granted recently at the BP Kunshani.

The Foundation works to fulfil the dreams of children between the ages of 3 and 18 who are living with life-threatening illnesses. The dream team uses the special day to help the children regain some of their childhoods which mostly consists of medical routines and being cautious.

“We believe in the power of dreams and we encourage children to use their dreams to fight life-threatening illnesses. We seek, as far as possible, to make dreams come true and our donors and sponsors make this happen.” – Reach for a Dream

Whatever the dream, no matter how big or small, it often gives the child hope and courage to carry on the fight. The fulfilment of these dreams inspires hope and courage in the dreamer and helps them believe that tomorrow is worth fighting for.

Charl’s dream was to see the ins and outs of running a petrol station. He hopes to one-day own his very own one. BP gladly jumped on board to make his dream a reality and even had a custom uniform made for him.

Charl also has a love for the movies and TV shows that Gerrit Schoonhoven performed in. He always dreamed of meeting his favourite actor in person, and that dream came true too. They got to spend the day together learning all about how to run a petrol station.

“Charl is also very interested in petrol stations and wanted to see how one runs, so the scene was set for his dream day at BP Kunshani. Charl was kitted out in his own custom made BP uniform thanks to Sapphire Corporate Solutions and then Danny, Dube and the incredible BP Kunshani team welcomed Charl on board as a shadow member of their team. Charl’s first customer pulled up and he could not believe his eyes when he saw Gerrit sitting in the car.

Gerrit joined Charl as he carried on learning the ropes and after a successful morning of training, Charl was presented with a special gift from the garage team. Charl enjoyed the rest of the day having lunch with Gerrit and getting to ask him as many questions as he liked about his career. The absolute highlight was when Gerrit presented Charl with a jacket that he wore in one of his movies. Thank you to Gerrit for taking the time to come to Cape Town and create such a special dream day for our dreamer” – The Reach For A Dream Foundation
