Home baked goods are always made with love so this love day, you can donate your favourite savoury muffins and cupcakes to the elderly.

Randburg, South Africa (01 February 2023) – This Valentine’s Day, you can share the love by donating savoury muffins to Kindness Like Confetti, who will delivery them to the surrounding old aged homes in their area.

A group called ‘Kindness like Confetti’ (KLC), based in Linden Gauteng, spreads kindness far and wide! This year, they are spreading some love and cheer to the elderly residents of old age homes on their beneficiary list.

KLC is a registered non-profit organisation with six main projects – collecting and distributing sanitary products, a feeding scheme, a knitting project called The Joseph Jersey Project, a dignity bag project to support victims of rape, trauma and abuse, Project Uplift, collecting new and gently used bras for women and an animal welfare support project. There are four additional KLC branches including Cape Town, Gqberha, Knysna and Pretoria.

The Linden branch also works with local elderly so on special days like Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Easter, they feel the love and care of their community too.

While everyone loves a sweet treat on Valentine’s Day, this year KLC is looking for delicious, healthy savoury muffins to go along with their usual cupcakes and cake.

“For Valentine’s Day please help us bake savoury muffins and cupcakes for the golden oldies in our old age homes.

2 hours of community service is available per dozen baked”

If you are looking for some inspiration and flavour ideas, why not try a cheesy muffin, or our favourite, a spinach and feta? You can also keep it simple and do a delicious mixed herb which goes great with some butter.

What are some of your favourite savoury muffin recipes?
