Falko One

Falko one started his spray painting project in 2015, since then he has spray painted hundreds of uplifting elephant murals on walls all over South Africa

We first covered the story of Falko one in April last year, you can read it here, since then he has continued with his project. Working with RedBull Falko ventured into small towns and informal settlements.

His goal is to uplift the people in these area’s by changing their perception of value. Falko has been on the graffiti scene since 1988, when he painted his first wall at Westridge High School in Mitchell’s Plain.

“Add a little paint and it’s not just a scruffy shack any more,” Falko told the Red Bull crew. “It’s a shack with artwork on it, part of a huge open-air art gallery. It changes everyone’s perception.”

Since we published our last article Falko has traveled to Singapore, Dubai and many other places. Falko’s signature pieces are usually of an elephant which incorporates something from its surroundings. More recently he has started adding thought provoking pieces as well.
