Tracy Robb was out on a bike ride and afterwards, realised she had lost her phone; a day later, she got a call from a local farmer who had found the phone.

Brits, South Africa (10 March 2023) – Tracy Robb had that dreaded moment where she realised her phone had gone missing while on a bike ride. Frustrated, she returned to the route to see if she could spot the phone but when she came back empty-handed,she reluctantly went to sort out a new one.

When Tracy arrived back at her office the next day, she got a call from a man named Jabulani Galubetse. Jabulani explained that he had picked up a phone the previous day but had been unable to unlock it. He cleverly removed the sim card, placing it in his own phone, so he could access the information to try and track down the owner.

His searching had led him to calling the office and connecting with Tracy. He was so happy to have found the owner and shared that he had the phone safely located on his small farm in Brits. He agreed to meet up with Tracy, who would then be able to collect her phone from him.

Tracy drove out to the farm recently, to meet the man who saved the day!

“A story of hope and feel-good.

A couple of weeks ago while out riding bikes, I lost my phone on the Brits canal road. I went back to look for it with no success.

Next day I went and got a replacement phone and sim card.

That afternoon the office received a call from a guy to say he found my phone…….

I called him and he told me how he could not unlock my phone, so he took the sim card and put it in his own phone and then found who I was.

I was absolutely speechless, and went to meet up with Jabulani at his farm. What a wonderful person and he has a great small business that he is building up.

People like Jabulani give me hope for our future”

To pay it forward, Tracy shared Jabulani’s business information with anyone looking for a fresh food supplier in Brits. She hopes his good deed will be repaid in new business and growth in his venture.
