Victor Matfield counts down the moment 26 trucks, loaded with donations, set off to help farmers affected by the droughts. The video is awe-inspiring!
The group ‘Droogte Hulp’ (meaning Drought Help in Afrikaans), shared a video today of their massive donation going off to desperate farmers affected by the droughts in South Africa. In the video a woman explains all the work that was being done, was thanks to the generous donations they had received.
A total of 26 trucks filled with a variety of farming staples, were sent off in style. Former Springbok Rugby player, Victor Matfield was there to do the count down and send the trucks off.
The project was started by Burre Burger and they first started assisting the farmers from drought-stricken Calvinia located in the Karoo. From there it grew to help even more farmers cope during the drought.
“This is how the farmers get together to help one another “Die gees van Suid Afrika” – The spirit of South Africa – it is time we ALL become like these close knit communities again and support each other 100% we can move this country – we can move this world – IT IS WITHIN US” – We Are South Africans
You can watch the amazing video below. For our international readers, please note that it is entirely in Afrikaans but the language of generosity is universal. It is wonderful to see so many people working to assist those in need. Farmers are the backbone of South Africa. If you would like to donate to the cause you can contact the group here.
Dankie aan almal betrokke… Dankie ouboet Victor Matfield vir die aftel en jou omgee hart…
