A family of 12, including newborn twins, made it out of a raging apartment fire in Decatur, Georgia thanks to firefighters.
A video of Dekalb County Fire Rescue Department firefighters rescuing a dozen trapped occupants from an apartment with heavy fire involvement on arrival.
The father was the only one injured after he sustained burns while getting all of his children our of the apartment from the third-story balcony.
“Failure is not an option, failure is never an option when it comes to protecting family,” Lance Ragland, one of the firefighters told Fox5.
One by one, Ragland sent his family down a ladder where firefighters caught the children.
Dramatic, HD helmet-camera video captured the moment DeKalb County Fire Captain Scott Stroup caught one of the children thrown to safety by Ragland.
A third generation DCFR firefighter ,Captain Scott Stroup, can be seen catching one of the children that was dropped from the third floor balcony.
“Great job by all hands operating on this fire as several lifesaving grabs were made that night.”
