firefighters

Chad Nathan and David Clancy are content creators living in Cape Town, they went to film the recent fire and saw how hard our firefighters work on the fire line

Cape Town, South Africa – We could never truly understand the amount of work that goes into fighting wildfires. Having to face unfathomable heat, smoke-chocked air, hours of labour-intensive work, unbeatable winds and the risk that every second could be the last.

The bravery these men and woman show every time a fire flares up is deeply inspiring. Chad and David wanted see how these brave men and women work on the frontline so when the Lions Head/Signal Hill fire started, they went to meet the firefighters and share their story.

They were so inspired by what they saw, they decided to set up a crowdfund on BackaBuddy to raise R15,000.00. They want to give this back as a thank you for all those people who put their lives on the line to save lives.

“Our brave fire fighters put their lives on the line to not only protect us but also protect our beloved mountain. David and I are two content creators living in Cape Town telling stories of people who deserve more recognition.

We would like to raise funds for the firefighters just to show our appreciation for all that they do.”

The funds raised will be paid directly to the Newlands fire station by BackaBuddy. So far the duo have managed to raise R5154.24 towards their goal.

Take a look at their encounter with the fire. Please be advised the video does contain some swearing.
