Tamika van Dijke who goes by Spooky when playing online, got an incredible surprise from the guys in her gaming clan; they clubbed together to buy her a new PS5.

South Africa (01 December 2021) – Anyone who games or knows a gamer knows that keeping up with the latest technology is vital for a fast, lag-free gaming experience. This is why Tamika van Dijke started saving for her Playstation 5 (PS5).

Just like almost everyone, Tamika didn’t get to December without being knocked down a few times this year. Her goal for saving got further and further away as other expenses took priority. She shared the news with her gaming clan AG_ZA (Aggressive Gaming) and the guys decided to surprise her for the festive season.

AG_ZA is made up of about 15 people spread around the world but mostly in South Africa. The clan has been going for around 5 years.

“We have a gaming friend as part of our gaming clan AG_ZA (Aggressive Gaming). Her name is Tamika, and her gaming tag is “Spooky”. Anyway, she’s the only lady in our little group and keeps all us gaming gents in check.

She’s been talking about saving for a PS5 for ages, but ended up having to sell her house. Got more financial burdens due to work troubles, and a few other difficulties. Which made the dream more and more unrealistic. After a pretty depro message on our gaming group, myself (Casey), and another member Hendre decided lets try Crowdfund this PS5.” – Casey van Zyl

The guys set up the crowdfund on BackaBuddy in the hopes of fully funding a new PS5 and it worked! They delivered her new unit this week and she was blown away by the kindness of her clan and the larger gaming community.

While many may see the gift as a luxury, in the gaming community, these games create a community and support system. The games are a way for people to unwind and de-stress. All the guys wanted was to make thier friend happy and that is what they did.

In a year that has been far from easy, Tamika had her faith in humanity restored by the generous gift.

“It was really heart warming to see how quickly and how much both clan members, as well as the general gaming community banded together to make her dream of getting a PS5 come true.

She’s really a lovely person, and was so excited when we delivered this on Monday” – Casey van Zyl

Tamika aka Spooky and the AG_ZA clan are setting a new standard that embraces support and inclusivity within their community. It is really heartwarming to see stories like this in the gaming community.
