Gaven Sinclair running

A South African man who cycled alone across the entire continent of Africa for charity is planning his next adventure, in the name of good things.

Johannesburg-born solo cyclist Gaven Sinclair, started his most recent cycling adventure from Cape Town to Cairo which saw him complete his ride almost a year later.

On the 15th August 2015, with only R38.00 in his pocket, Sinclair set off from Muizenburg, Cape Town hoping to reach Cairo on the pure kindness of humanity. Incredible Africans along the route shared their homes, food and in some instances even support with fixing his bike so that he can continue on.

The South African made it… and cycled a total of 10.037.19kms from Cape Town to Cairo solo, without a support vehicle.

“There are so many great things and challenges about cycling solo across the entire continent of Africa, traveling in its truest form an exasperating place, a melting pot of culture, environment and extraordinary African people.”

“Africa’s varied and manifold, consisting of a mixture of tribes that each have their own unique characteristics, a product of the diverse populations that today inhabit the continent of Africa. Africa held so many highlights stretching over 261 day’s covering a distance of 10.038.19km’s.”

“We have an inherit curiosity for Adventure and a natural calling to explore, nine months of captivating sights and heart felt experiences. Special bonds and moments shared embracing personal challenges over coming diversity and the unknown.”

“Exploration is a philosophy of life.”

Not happy to sit at home with his feet up, he has decided to up the ante and run 5500 kms for charity.

He is planning the longest unsupported trail run  across five African countries covering a distance of 5528.3kms roughly with the highest elevation being 1630 meters.

“My second solo challenge unsupported will be on foot this time attempting to run a distance of 5528.3kms with the highest elevation point being 1630 meters. I plan to embark on the 1 September, 2017. I will be representing Missing Children South Africa again as an Ambassador to raise funds and awareness.”

Gaven is currently busy with sponsor proposals and branding opportunities if anyone would like to get involved please drop me an email.”
