Geralt who was found abandoned in a township, twice, has been adopted thanks to the St Francis Animal Rescue’s efforts to get his story out.
St Francis, South Africa (23 January 2023) – After sharing Geralt’s story last week, the St Francis Animal Rescue shared an update that he has found his forever home! Geralt was found in a local township after being abandoned twice and taken in by foster mom Sue Olsen on behalf of the St Francis Animal Rescue.
The team hoped that by sharing his story, they would be able to find him a home. They had lots of interest, but Geralt was still left waiting for that one perfect match. He could only stay with Sue until mid-February so the countdown to find his family was a short one.
Thankfully, Daniel, who has an elderly cat and two dogs, saw the post about Geralt and gave him a chance. The team celebrated the adoption and showed the two together.
“Geralt our abandoned township kitty has been adopted by Daniel. He joins an elderly cat and 2 retrievers in his new loving forever home.
Thank you Dan for choosing to adopt an adult cat, and as always to Sue Olsen for always fostering for SFAR whenever she is available.”
The loveable, fuss-free cat is going to do so well surrounded by so much love!
The St Francis Animal Rescue was founded by a group of volunteers in 2016, who wanted to address the problem of the growing number of animals in need. They started by running a sterilisation drive and getting spaza shops to stock R5 bags of pet food and have grown over the years to make a real difference in St Francis and Sea View.
Geralt is one of the many animals rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed. You can find out more about the St Francis Animal Rescue by checking out Facebook or the Website.
