Matthew Hahm, Thorne Davids, and Alex Jacobs are being rewarded for saving Thorne’s dog after a hit and run – Donors are raising R20 000 for their needs.
Cape Town, South Africa (03 February 2022) – When Matthew Hahm (11), Thorne Davids (10), and Alex Jacobs (9) walked over 30 minutes to get to the Cape SPCA in January. They were trying to save Thorne’s dog, Bruno.
It all started when a free-roaming dog attacked Burno while the children were in the garden. Bruno ran away from the attack, and the three boys ran after him to save him. As they got around the corner, they saw a car hit Bruno. The car just drove away, leaving Bruno in agony on the roadside. It was a traumatising event for all of them.
The boys put Bruno in a baby carrier and walked him to the Cape of Good Hope SPCA to get him help. The story was shared by the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, and when Anthea Scholtz, she wanted to do something for the boys.
“Thank you to the wonderful SPCA who are doing their magic to ensure that Bruno is brought back to health and to the families of these children for raising what can only be described as angels.” – Anthea Scholtz
Anthea launched a crowdfund on BackaBuddy to reward the heroes for their kindness. She wanted to raise R20,000 for them, to cover the costs of whatever they needed.
“We want to ensure that all three children and their families have what they need to keep nurturing what are already very special souls.”
“The funds raised will go toward showing these Super Citizens exactly how wonderful their deed was and to shine a truly positive light on Animal Rescue. It’s a small act of kindness like this that adds up to something far greater than we could imagine. Let’s reward those that do so much good. These children are our future.”
Anthea has asked that funds raised be administered by BackaBuddy NPC as to ensure that funds are used for their intended purpose and to provide full transparency with donors. Donors will be updated on the children’s progress.
