Cape Town, South Africa (08 May 2020) – The Cape of Good Hope SPCA stepped up to help the homeless with pets. They were being picked up and taken to temporary housing facilities, but their animals were not allowed to join. The SPCA took in the animals with the promise of keeping them safe during the lockdown.
One story features Max and Roger Harris. Roger had no choice but to trust that the SPCA would care for Max while he was kept at a temporary housing facility.
Roger loves Max, and the pair have an extraordinary bond, they are each other’s protectors. The Cape of Good Hope SPCA shared the heartwarming video of the moment the two were reunited.
“Roger is another member of our homeless community who had no choice but to leave his best friend in the care of the COGH SPCA while he took refuge from the pandemic in one of The City’s temporary housing facilities. Get your tissues ready and watch the reaction from Max when he finally realises it is Roger that has come to fetch him!.
We are so touched by the bond that these two share and humbled by this display of unconditional love. There can be nothing truer in this world than the love of a dog!”
Take a look below, at first Max, doesn’t realise Roger is there but once he does, it is the very best thing to see!
