A photo of a young barefoot child getting his feet washed is going viral. Here’s the full story:

Polokwane, South Africa (23 October 2020) – A Polokwane man saw a young child walking barefoot in the streets, he offered to buy him shoes and what happened next is giving the internet all the feels.

Denga Lufuno – a Standard Bank employee – approached the young child and offered to buy him shoes for his worn-out feet.

Once in the store, the gentleman asked the sales assistant on duty – Ndala Linkie – if she could help by washing the child’s feet before putting on the new shoes. Without hesitation, Linkie fetched a bucket with water and soap and washed the young child’s feet and legs.

In many religions, feet washing is a sign of humility, love and service. In this story, it is all of that and a beautiful act of kindness between South Africans.

Lufuno put the post up on Facebook to show appreciation to Linkie, and the post immediately went viral.

Thank you Denga Lufuno and Ndala Linkie. We need more people like you.

  1. If only more people could stop …look… and listen (see) the needs of one person like this man did and acted on … we would all be much better for it! You are the Good Samaritan! God bless you and your family – and God bless the lady who clearly shows her love for humanity!
