Mom’s post on getting hired while pregnant goes viral on LinkedIn.

Global (21 April 2022) – Anna Franziska Hunger – a Talent & People Operations Partner in London – took to LinkedIn to talk about something many women worry about… trying to get a new job while pregnant and her story has ignited an important conversation.

The post has had over 80,000 likes and thousands of comments from other moms who have found themselves in similar situations, with very different outcomes.

Read it below:

I AM PREGNANT and I GOT HIRED.

While this is becoming more mainstream, being a ‘pregnant hire’ still feels like an oxymoron.

One clear indication: I was terrified of breaking the news throughout the interviews (though coming from People Ops, I should know better) and several times got the ‘well intended’ advice to hide my pregnancy until signing.

I decided not to compromise and tell the truth, 6 months pregnant (again). I want to be a role model to my daughter and work for a company that values and empowers working mums that juggle two toddlers.

The result: I got the job, incl. maternity leave and I couldn’t be more motivated to join a progressive thinking and inspiring team.

Thanks “KAYA VC” for trusting in me and excited to get started and support more founders, people teams and scale-ups in all things talent and people operations.
