SPCA pets compilation videos lost dogs home

Bronwyn Wevers started a Whatsapp Group and Facebook page that helps humans find their lost dogs and helps families pay their expensive vet bills.

Bronwyn Wevers started Kempton Animal Rescue (KAR) for a group of volunteers who help stray and abandoned animals. It all started with a Whatsapp Group to help with networking and has slowly grown into a small Facebook community.

The group use the platform to network and return animals to their stressed owners. They also work with helping strays and abandoned animals. They take them through to the SPCA to be rehomed.

Once a month we are on the radio (93.9 East Rand Stereo) to speak about KAR and what we need and what we have accomplished. We also try and educate the public with the well-being of animals.

We also help with families who cannot afford vet bills but love their animals like their own children.

Bronwyn dreams to work with animals and so she has been working to register KAR as an NPO

My dream is to open up a “rescue center hospital” where we can keep the animals safe for the night if found on the streets, and then the following day take them to the SPCA if no microchip is found.

She is so passionate about animal care that she sat for hours collecting signatures to get Fireworks banned! In total KAR collected 499 signatures!

To find out more about KAR or to set up a similar platform in your own community, check out their Facebook Page.
