A kind man drove from Johannesburg to Limpopo to buy a little girl a new uniform, pay for her school fees for life and make sure her family had groceries, after a picture of her first day at school went viral.
Limpopo, South Africa (24 January 2020) – A little girl from Limpopo’s story has gone viral after a man drove all the way from Johannesburg to buy her a new uniform, pay for her school fees for life, and make sure her family had enough groceries.
The young girl’s picture trended last week on Twitter when schools opened because of how she was dressed in her uniform on the first day of school. She was wearing clothing that was far too big for her and looked completely uncomfortable.
Immediately, social media users joined the conversation, making fun of the little girl’s misfortune.
Thankfully one man stood up to change the narrative, and show some kindness to a little girl and a family that clearly needed it.
Gauteng Survivors, a group on Facebook, posted the story about Gavin Khalima Khungwayo who drove all the way from Johannesburg to Limpopo to meet the little girl and her family.
“This gentleman by name of Gavin Khalima Khungwayo looked for this young girl, he traveled all the way to Limpopo to help her get a proper uniform, pay for her school fees for life, and bought her and her family groceries.
We need more of people like you Khungwayo Kwande la othathe Khona Baba.”
What an inspirational story and a reminder to just be kind. In times of tragedy always look for the helpers… they are the heroes we need to be celebrating!
