One SMALL Act of Kindness has launched a winter campaign to help the homeless that they feed in the evenings, they hope to collect blankets, socks and jerseys.

Johannesburg, South Africa (26 April 2022) – One SMALL Act of Kindness based in Johannesburg, works to support people most in need. They provide meals to the homeless and many have started asking for help with a blanket or something warm to get them through the coming cold nights.

The organisation set up a crowdfund on BackaBuddy to raise funds for their winter projects but they are also collecting jerseys, blankets and socks from the public. They hope that if each person donated just one item, they would be able to provide warmth to everyone on the streets.

One Small Act of Kindness was created and started from an idea on a Sunday night to help and assist communities and places that are missed or not assisted by other organisations. With more help and assistance from the communities, these places would be able to run a little more smoothly and assist or reach more than they are currently.

The aim is to assist old age homes, community foster homes, animal welfare, townships, locations, underprivileged nursery schools, the homeless as well as shelters. They have started helping individuals as the need arises.

“With winter just around the corner and a cold weekend upon us.

Many guys on the street choose street life but many guys choose the life of the street to make sure they can send money home and look after thier families.

This morning alone we have had 4 guys ask us for a blanket or something warm.

We are putting out an appeal to please find one jacket in your cupboard you don’t need. If everyone on our page shared one- We would have many warm bodies around.

You have the chance to make a difference in someone’s life. No act to small.
Please help us collect socks, Jerseys amd blankets. Drop off at 24 Darnoc Ave, Bordeaux or 47 Magnolis Street, Sharonlea.”

You can find out more about the organisation via the Facebook page here.
