Danielle Afriat’s car was involved the Kroonstad Train Crash. Her car was written off but her main concern was the people which is why she is campaigning to raise money for the people injured in the crash.
Danielle Afriat’s car was being transported on the train that crashed in Kroonstad. It was completely written off but without even thinking her first concern was all the individuals injured in the horrific crash.
“I don’t usually send out appeals but last week my husband and I had our car written off in the horrific Kroonstad Train Crash. It was being transported on the train. Fortunately for us, we only lost a material possession, however, this, unfortunately, is not the case for many of the victims. People have lost mothers and fathers, children, infants and all their possessions.”
Danielle made a plea to her friends and the public to help make donations towards the centres that have been set up to help the families. She has also launched a fund to help pay for medical bills.
“I feel strongly about trying to help the 429 passengers 254 of which were injured and 19 of which were killed. I will be collecting much-needed clothing and non-perishable items which will be handed to Daisy Daniel from PRASA for the walk-in centres that have been opened to support the victims.”
“I have also opened a trust account with legal firm Farber Sabelo Edelstein to collect funds for medical care and other necessities for victims who cannot afford it.”
The drop-off location for donations is Trackmatic Solutions, 1st Floor Waverley Office Park, 125 Corlett Drive, Johannesburg.
