Ladles of Love is giving children from disadvantaged areas the comfort of a teddy bear all the while making sure they have good nutrition every day.

Cape Town, South Africa (10 February 2022) – Ladles of Love does more than just provide meals, they help restore dignity, give respect, and create the kind of world we all want to live in. Their latest campaign spreads a little love while guaranteeing a child gets two warm meals.

Ladles of Love was founded by Danny Diliberto when he was encouraged to give tea to the homeless. Instead, he used his restaurant’s kitchen to make a pot of soup. He took to the streets and encountered a homeless man that was shouting in the streets. Danny offered the man a cup of soup and it had a soothing effect on the man.

“The man stopped shouting, accepted the soup and thanked Danny before continuing on his way. The soup met a basic need. But, more than that, it also had the power to restore dignity, even if just for a moment. At that moment, the soup kitchen was born.”

In 2014, a group of Danny’s friends came together to feed 70 people and they never stopped. Now years later, they have fed millions of people in need. One of the latest campaigns Ladles of Love is doing, is the Love Bear Campaign.

For donations of R150, a child will be gifted a fuzzy teddy bear and two warm meals per day, for an entire month.

“With our Love Bears campaign, we strive to support, nurture, nourish and educate children because we understand that we will perpetuate the social injustices and lose another generation in the process if we don’t play our part.”

“We decided to launch our Love Bear campaign because we looked at children that grow in challenging environments. A teddy bear is something for them to cuddle in their time of need and when they are feeling insecure, scared, or unhappy.”

There are several options, you can choose to donate for 1, 5, 10, 25 or 100 children. You can contribute to the Love Bear Campaign here.
