Janine Brand was travelling through Lanseria International Airport when she encountered a man that has some serious job pride, she filmed him to inspire South Africans.

Everyone knows someone who has had a baggage problem at an airport. Whether that be lost luggage, broken-into luggage or just damaged luggage. It is incredibly infuriating having to deal with these matters and they don’t only occur in South Africa, people have problems like this all over the world.

Thankfully, there is one guy who takes his job seriously and really hopes to make every person’s trip that much smoother. Ephraim Sibeko works at the baggage carousel at Lanseria International Airport, turning each bag the right way round and handle side out so people can easily grab their bags and go.

Janine Brand was at the airport when she spotted the job proud man working hard to brighten peoples days. It is a simple task and many would argue, part of his job but it makes a difference.

“Meet Ephraim Sibeko… If you have ever travelled in your life, I’ll bet you 1000 bucks you’ve never seen anyone treat you or your luggage like Ephraim. The guys that usually stand there to receive or check the bags, either just stand and watch or grab and chuck to make space on the conveyor belt.

He turns every single bag so that the handle of the suitcase is facing forward. All you do is grab and go. Next time you travel through Lanseria Airport and you come across Ephraim, stop, thank and tip him because nowhere in the world will you ever receive first class service like that. (unless you pay for the service )

This man should be promoted to global training manager” – Janine Brand

  1. Well done young man Hopefully those in charge will recognise what you do and reward you for your small but a significant help to the public.Thank you for this simple but helpful thought.

  2. Has he been promoted to brand manager? This is so patronising. And heartbreaking. A young man trying to create some value and dignity in a country that is unlikely to give him either or a decent chance at a meaningful job.
