Over four million worthy views! A 12-year-old youngster from Paarl performed a wow-worthy version of Beyoncé’s ‘Listen’, and that’s exactly what you need to do.

Paarl, South Africa (01 June, 2023) — Beyoncé might just need to make some space on the stage for little Yonwabe Quetswana. The talented 12-year-old from Paarl recently gave us ‘Beyoncé, is that you?’ energy after performing an incredible rendition of Bey’s ‘Listen’ from Dreamgirls.

The video of Yonwaba singing quickly filled the streets of social media with fans and has since raked in over 4 million views.

“Beyoncé is gonna cry he sings like loadshedding is gone and we can live happily [ever after] well done young man,” reads just one of the thousands of comments singing Yonwaba’s praises.

Shared by ‘DOEP TV’, the moment in song left thousands of South Africans hoping the mini-Beyoncé’s vocals will take him across the world.

Listen!

According to Yonwaba’s mother, he’s crazy about music and has been since he was 2 years old, per Son.

Many have nudged for Yonwabe to audition for global TV shows, the chance to follow in the footsteps of two South African sets of talent we’re all beaming about at the moment.

Both have evoked serious emotion from Simon Cowell earning golden buzzer showers collectively.

One is Mzansi Youth Choir who paid tribute to artist Nightbirde, lighting up the America’s Got Talent stage with golden voices. The other, is the man who moved all of us through dance and resilience on Britain’s Got Talent—Musa Motha.

Beyoncé, America and Britain all have talent, but South African stars have the world talking.
