The Baby Home, Durban North is celebrating after one of their children got adopted yesterday; they shared an image of the little girl, and it’s so heartwarming!

Durban, South Africa (17 November 2020) – The Baby Home is a safe haven for abandoned or orphaned babies waiting to be adopted. Recently they shared a heartwarming picture of a little girl walking to meet her forever family.

The home is a project of The Peace Agency. The Baby Home, Durban North was started by Bjorn and Jo Teunissen, both educators with a passion for caring for children. In 2014, they adopted their son, and it inspired them to open the home. They contacted The Peace Agency, and their haven was started.

“One of the biggest issues we face in South Africa is that of our country’s many vulnerable children. The Baby Home is a fully registered Place of Safety that cares for abandoned or orphaned babies and babies given up for adoption. We nurture each of our babies individually, providing them with the love and care that every child deserves. We do this until a permanent solution is found for each child.

The Durban North Baby Home cares for babies and toddlers between the age of 0 and 4, and little ones with special needs.”

Jo and Bjorn have three of their own children and care for up to six children in the Baby Home at any given time. Any time a child is adopted from their home, it is a great day!

One of Jo and Bjorn’s children from the home were recently adopted. Jo took to their social media page to share the happy news and an image that is warming the hearts of so many people.

“I snapped this picture this morning on our way in to court and I absolutely adore the love and innocence of it.

This is our little Diva walking in to court to officially get her forever family, holding tightly on to her new big brother’s hand.

We are so happy for you big girl. You have got such a wonderful family and we know you are going to be so loved. We are all going to miss you so much and we can’t wait to hear all your exciting news from your forever family.

We love you so much xxx” – Jo Teunissen, The Baby Home, Durban North.
