Vukile loves his dog beyond words and it broke his heart to give her away but sadly, he is going home to die and wants her to have the best life possible.
Overberg, Western Cape – Vukile* has diabetes and was told by his doctors that due to his complications, there is nothing more that they can do for him. He has accepted that he will die and started to sort out the loose ends in his life before going home to the Eastern Cape to live with his parents.
One of the things that have been weighing heavily on his heart, was giving up his loyal dog, Puppy. He wanted to be sure that she went to a good home. He called R.A.D (Rescued Animal Drive) and asked them to come to pick her up and take her two 5-day old puppies as well.
They didn’t have the full story at first and thought it was yet another irresponsible pet owner shrugging off responsibility. Once they met Vukile, they knew this was not the case and their hearts broke hearing his story.
“He shed a few tears when we loaded Puppy and her pups and thanked us for taking her to a safe place.
We could not help feeling extremely sad, being reminded of what we have and those who still have good hearts despite being dealt such a bad hand.
Puppy’s loyalty was heartwarming and we had to take her away from the only home she has ever known.”
The organisation is now looking for a foster home to take in Puppy and her little puppies. They hope to find a forever home for all as soon as the puppies are old enough. You can follow Puppy and her pups on Facebook here.
“Of course Puppy herself will need an awesome home. She is good with other dogs, cats and chickens. loveisrescue@gmail.com or inbox us. Grabouw/Helderberg area”
People have been very concerned about Vukile and are hoping for a miracle. Vukile has already set-off home so the organisation is struggling to track him down. Many are keeping him in their prayers.
