Mustadafin Foundation has been working tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 lockdown to feed over 15 000 people each day and for R12, you can help them feed more people!

Cape Town, South Africa (09 October 2020) – As many of us find comfort in a warm plate of food, especially as we wait in anticipation for spring to arrive in Cape Town, thousands of people, especially the less fortunate are pondering how they’ll survive the day.

Over three million South Africans have lost their jobs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown and are experiencing tremendous hardship.

“We have seen an increase to the feeding lines as many people are trying to make ends meet; the consequences of lockdown have been devastating on household and food security,” shares Ghairunisa Johnstone, director of Mustadafin Foundation.

For only R12 you can make the difference to someone going to bed hungry or not.

“At Mustadafin Foundation we are appealing to the public to support our ‘#FeedABelly’ campaign. It only costs R12 to provide a nutritious, healthy meal per day to someone,’ adds Johnstone.

Mustadafin Foundation provides 15 000 meals daily to impoverished areas around the Western Cape and Eastern Cape. The meals are in support of eradicating hunger and poverty.

‘We may not be able to feed the whole nation but with a R12 contribution, we can ease the food pressure put on poor households. Together we can add value and make a difference by providing someone with a meal day,’ concludes Johnstone.

The campaign’s aim is to provide a Million people with a nutritional meal in support of decreasing starvation during the COVID-19 crisis. Support Mustadafin and give hope to thousands of destitute families. You can find out how to donate to this cause via their website here.
