Bakers all over South Africa have been baking cupcakes for National Cupcake Day this weekend; the goal is to raise R3million to fight childhood cancer.
South Africa (23 September 2021) – Cupcakes of Hope is a Non-Profit and Public Benefit Organisation dedicated to raising funds to assist not only the financial and emotional needs of the children with cancer and their families fighting the disease. The organisation also helps drive awareness about early cancer detection in children through the love of baking.
They have launched their second ‘Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer’ fundraising initiative for 2021 and are encouraged South Africans to put on their aprons and bake cupcakes for charity.
Cupcakes Of Hope fundraisers are hosted by volunteers throughout the year in a wide variety of formats. The funds raised enable the charity to assist about 100 children every month by paying for their medical or day-to-day expenses. As they like to say, this is by far the SWEETEST way to help save a life.
As September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, they were looking to recruit 3000 volunteer bakers. Those bakers are busy baking up a storm and will sell the cupcakes this weekend, with the funds going to Cupcakes of Hope.
The organisation and their volunteer bakers have done amazing things, but this year, the goal is their biggest. Cupcakes of Hope hopes to raise R3 million for their cause.
To make this happen, get to your nearest Cupcakes of Hope stand and buy as many cupcakes as you can. They are being sold at 38 malls around South Africa and you can find your nearest mall here.
