A family from the Netherlands met Georgie while on holiday and decided to adopt her; Gary and Kerryn agreed to foster her until she was allowed to travel.
Cape Town, South Africa (17 March 2022) – When a dog travels overseas, a few requirements are put in place to make sure the dog is healthy and safe to travel. Each country has its own requirements, so when Georgie was adopted by a family in the Netherlands, she needed someone to help her get ready for the big journey.
Gary and his fiance Kerryn offered to foster Georgie adopted from Oscars Arc Woof Project to make sure all her vaccinations and rabies checks were in order before she could jet-set to her new family in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Gary and Kerryn were so grateful to help this family, and before they knew it, they had grown to love Georgie too. It was clear why she was chosen; she has the sweetest nature and wins everyone over with her charm and tenderness. When Georgie left for the Netherlands, Gary was heartbroken.
Thankfully, Gary and Kerryn’s wedding is this coming April, and they planned to do their honeymoon in Europe. Georgie’s new family have invited the couple to visit Georgie when they arrive in Rotterdam.
When Gary heard the news, he was deeply moved by their invitation to see Georgie and her new home.
Sometimes we can love an animal even if they belong to someone else. Georgie was a good friend to Gary and Kerryn, and she will remain so for the rest of their lives.
“Any glimpse into the life of an animal quickens our own and makes it so much the larger and better in every way.” – John Muir.
