Nisha Varghese – a young South African with cerebral palsy – is teaching us all that different is really cool!
East London, South Africa (15 January 2021) – Nisha Varghese, a 30-year-old from East London with cerebral palsy, is always on a mission to make people’s lives better and spent her time during the lockdown putting her thoughts into words as she published her first book!
“Cerebral palsy is a neurological condition that affects speech and movement. Because I have cerebral palsy, I can’t walk, and my speech is sometimes difficult to understand. Some people think cerebral palsy affects everybody the same way when, in fact, it affects people to varying degrees depending on how badly the brain was damaged during the injury.”
The passionate South African has been featured on Good Things Guy a number of times for all the amazing work she continues to do for charities, but this time she is being featured for how she spent lockdown… by writing and publishing her first book!
“Different Is Cool” is a children’s book based on the life of Varghese who despite having Cerebral Palsy and being in a wheelchair, learns to celebrate her difference and even becomes a humanitarian. The book is a stand-up and cheer kind of a story guaranteed to inspire the young and old.
We love everything that this incredible South African continues to do, despite being differently-abled!
