A Kind Tree is making people smile in KwaZulu-Natal. Over and above a goal to give kind messages and stories a home to live, the messages on the tree also translate to action for women in need.
Kloof, South Africa (06 July, 2023) — In an effort to grow a culture of kindness and tackle period poverty, a kindness tree popped up in Kloof, KZN today.
The idea is simple. If you pass the Kind Tree, leave a sticky note of kindness behind. Here, stories of kindness, compliments and soft moments all have a place to live; inspiring others and making their days fruitful with good things. Better yet, one feminine hygiene product will be matched for every message. These products will go to a non-profit; the Jes Foord Foundation.
The tree is currently at Maytime Centre, at the Thrive Pharmacy and forms part of Kindness Thursdays by KindnessCan.
Even if you aren’t in KwaZulu-Natal but love the idea, you can also ‘grow’ your own tree for your school or organisation when you reach out to KindnessCan!
Good Things Guy believes wholeheartedly that when you share kindness, you inspire it and we can’t wait to see more kindness trees populate South Africa.
In other recent kindness news, a man recently paid for a lunchtime bill after a mother forgot her pin. Meanwhile, a kind flight attendant made a passenger’s day by reminding him of the importance of empathy.
KindnessCan is a movement started by radio personality Jane Linley-Thomas and emotional intelligence author, Paul Bushell.
