Just as the Springboks team have consistently reminded South Africans that we are #StrongerTogether and brought us all the feels in sharing why they do what they do, NPO the Tomorrow Trust made their own special spin-off, a thought-provoking reminder that the Boks aren’t the only team that needs a nation’s support:
South Africa (23 October 2023) — By now, the world is well aware that if there’s one thing to know about South Africans, it is that rugby is not just for the sports fans of our nation. Saturday’s match against England exemplified this, as people who understood each play like unofficial refs and those who only know the players by hairstyle stood side by side, #strongertogether in the joy (and anxiety) of supporting the same goal.
South Africa is unique in this way; a continued success of Nelson Mandela’s 1995 Rugby World Cup campaign in unity.
This year, the Springboks #strongertogether campaign saw the Springboks reveal their ‘Why’ through the #ForSouthAfrica Series. It is a personal look into who they play for, and why they work as hard as they do, come celebration or immense pressure.

With the unity that has energised us all, thoughts about what kind of South Africa we’d live in if we could use the same momentum for other challenges have taken up space in many local minds.
What would SA look like if we supported each other with such determination?
Another team who are champions in their own right recently made a spin-off of the #ForSouthAfrica series. Here, the Tomorrow Trust shared their reasons for committing to the children of today and South Africa of tomorrow.

The Tomorrow Trust have, since 2005, mobilised people to reduce the inequality orphaned and vulnerable children experience, especially in educational opportunities.
Their approach is holistic, with junior, senior, tertiary and even alumni programmes, facilitating education preparations through holiday and Saturday classes, providing nutritious meals and learning essentials as well as facilitating YES employment partnerships and alumni support.
The Tomorrow Programme saw 364 tertiary bursary students through its support last year, and during the pandemic, was celebrated for adjusting to the lockdown’s challenges; even winning Conscious Company NGO of the Year for 2020.
When watching their #StrongerTogether messages, one can’t help but wonder what indeed, South Africa might be like if we supported the tomorrow of our country as will next week’s final.
