A South African policeman was recently honoured on social media after apprehending a group of hi-jackers, chasing them on foot.
Officer Malambolo from the Norwood precinct in Johannesburg was caught in action chasing down hijackers. Not only did he chase them on foot, but the brave policeman managed to catch them too.
Andrew Maren posted the picture to a Facebook page honouring amazing police stories from around the world.
“A hero cop who chased after 2 Hijackers on foot after the hijackers crashed into me and then lost contol of their car. They abandoned the car and ran on foot. Officer Malambolo (Norwood) and partner chased them and apprehended them both. Superfit, superbrave hero cop! Very proud of these men in blue who put their lives at risk to protect us.”
The photo has been shared thousands of times and the reactions from the community is well deserved.
So glad you’re ok. Norwood police station has always been good to me when I’ve needed them. Catching not one but two hijackers on foot!? That’s amazing. I live close by and often go into Norwood. Makes my heart smile to know Officer Malambolo and his partner are on duty.” Barbara Christina Koll wrote.
