Tatjana Schoenmaker is South Africa’s pride and joy from the Olympics – She was celebrated through a fruitful crowdfund and is now giving back to her fellow South Africans.
South Africa (26 October 2021) – After the Olympics ended, South African businesses and everyday people came together to crowdfund for our medalists. Tatjana Schoenmaker was so grateful for the support; she is using her portion to launch a foundation geared at helping South Africans.
Tatjana is paying it forward and in the best way!
“I was blessed financially by the amazing people of South Africa through crowdfunding and want to now use this to bless others too, through my foundation!” – Tatjana Schoenmaker
The money crowdfunded by South Africans hit nearly R1 Million in just three days. Initially, SASCOC (South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee) had not been in a position to award bonuses to the athletes who had earned medals but thankfully, that was rectified a short while after the Olympics.
Tatjana’s Olympic journey was an incredible one. She earned two medals for South Africa, silver and gold. She also broke the 200-meter breaststroke record.
Tatjana launched her foundation last night at a small event, surrounded by loved ones who have supported her through her journey.
“Finally launched! I hope that the foundation will be a shining light, a blessing to others just as I have been blessed and most importantly a God centred foundation (hence the middle ‘t’ being a cross)”
Stay tuned for more; as soon as the foundation is up and running, we will share all the good news about the Tatjana Foundation.
