Paul Maciel and his team prepared, cooked and sponsored food for over 100 children for a Christmas function he hosted late last year at The Net HIV AIDS Youth Project in Orange Farm.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of the type of people that there are in this good world!

Paul, better known as The Secret Jozi Chef, made sure that there was enough food prepared that would last for a few days which kept many little stomachs full and satisfied.

The story unfolds delicately.

The late Joseph Tshabalala, the primary caretaker at the orphanage, once ran a very successful bakery that generated enough income to care for the children and create food security, but since it burned down many years ago, income has been an issue and the struggle to support the children has become dire.

With Paul’s newly created cooking school, ‘The Cookery’, and charity organisation, HuddleUP’s initiative in Orange Farm, they decided to pay it forward and invite others to help them reach there goal in raising funds for a fully equipped bakery that will generate an income for the children and caretakers.

“We are trying to help the orphanage reach sustainable status while we build on opportunities that will expand our initiative.”

They are looking at creating a conducive environment for 120 children and caretakers using fully kitted shipping containers that can cater to physiological needs as well a psychological development.

“The bakery is the first part of our dream. Our big dream.”

They have 3 dates set aside:
