A good samaritan stopped to help a Capetonian who had run out of petrol, and his small act of kindness has sparked a reminder of how incredible South Africans can be!
Robert Cable may have run out of petrol but his faith in South Africans has totally been restored. The Capetonian shared a beautiful story about how a stranger stopped on the side of the road to help him, and in doing so reminded everyone how incredible South Africans can be!
“This guy is a Godsend. Seriously. I ran out of petrol next to the highway last night.
Just as I was about to call a friend, he stopped next to me on his motorbike and asked if he could help. He proceeded to go buy petrol and insisted that he pays with his OWN money, so that he won’t drive away with mine.”
Within 10 minutes, he came back with a 2 liter bottle of petrol.
The petrol only cost R25, but Robert only had R100 notes on him. The good samaritan refused to take the full amount, so Robert said that he would give him R50 if I we could find some change.
“We drove to his workplace (NURI SUSHI Factory) to get some change & when I checked again, he gave me my change and a platter of sushi, free of charge!
What a blessing this guy is. Above all else, his name is Innocent – what are the odds ?”
Robert took to Facebook to thank Innocent (and tagged his workplace to inform his employees of the kind deed). Since then the post has been shared by many South Africans who are thankful for the little reminders that our people are far better than the politicians and main-stream media try to showcase.
June Cable posted: “We need more stories like this. So many good South Africans in this country. So glad it worked out well for you”
Leonie Raubenheimer said: “Congratulations!! Thank you for posting, Faith in Humanity. May this young man receive recognition and be valued by the Company he works for, they have a diamond.”
Khomotso Mcduff Nonyane commented: “Wonderful Robert, to God be the Glory. He sends Angels as Men and Men as Angels”
