Tulbagh, Western Cape – A farm in Tulbagh, Western Cape were alerted to a fire on their property after a police officer drove up to the house to inform them.

He has been driving past when he noticed smoke coming from one of the orchards. Grant Clack was trying to get the farm’s water cart attached to go extinguish it but was having trouble. “This policeman drove into our farm this morning to notify us that he had seen smoke in one of our orchards and was concerned.

We were frantically trying to get our water cart hitched at which point he loaded up some of my staff took our beaters and drove off in his police van to start beating the fire! Wow, way beyond his call of duty. Thank you, sir, we really appreciate all your help. Big ups for Tulbagh community policing”
