Pretoria Floods Mother in Law

A South African Family are in search of heroes who saved their mother during the recent floods in Pretoria.

The family have taken to social media to try and find the “heroes” who saved their mother during the recent floods in Pretoria.

Parts of South Africa including Pretoria recently experienced a 24-hour rainfall that caused some flooding and devastation. Many parts of Pretoria were left without electricity and a number of roads were closed due to the heavy rainfall.

The rains left roads flooded, traffic lights out of order and those living in low-lying areas vulnerable.

Tshwane Emergency Services spokesperson Johan Pieterse said residents of several informal settlements in Mamelodi and Soshanguve were relocated by emergency services on Thursday night for their own safety.

Throughout the day, pictures emerged on social media of flooded roads and uprooted trees but one post was centred on finding heroes that emerged in the floods.

David Da Silva Medeiros put a post up on Facebook asking for social media to help find the heroes.

“To the couple in a bakkie who helped my mother in law out of a flooded situation in Centurion, thank you. She was In a blue Getz.

Her daughters and son thank you for stopping and letting her get into your clean bakkie. We would like to thank you personally. S

he can’t remember your names or anything about your bakkie, but we would like to thank you in person. Please share so we can find this very helpful couple. Thanks”

Please share this post far and wide and comment below should you have any more information.
