Charlene, the Princess of Monaco, has been in South Africa for a few weeks and for Mandela Day, she donated a massive amount of food to the Benoni SPCA.
Princess Charlene was in South Africa to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s centenary with the Nelson Mandela Foundation. She spent the morning with Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Sir Richard Branson and Leah Tutu. Afterwards, she set off to her hometown, Benoni, to spread a little more goodness.
She took a large amount of cat and dog food to the Benoni SPCA.
“A huge thank you to the Princess of Monaco and her family, for this generous donation of dog and cat food. We are honoured to be a beneficiary.” – Benoni SPCA
The SPCA has lost its largest funder, the Lottery and so every donation received helps to cut costs and cover the running of these branches. This loss has greatly affected every branch in South Africa. Making fundraising efforts a vital importance to ensure the branches remain operational.
Princess Charlene loves animals and has her own two dogs back home in Monaco. Her two Chihuahua’s names are Thula and Wena.
The donation has been well received and the SPCA are really grateful for the assistance from the South African royal. If you would like to assist the SPCA, you can visit the website here.
