45 Powerhouse cyclists recently rallied together for the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, tackling many kilometres and beads of sweat along the beaten path. The result? A lot of motivation for your next cycle attempt.
Cape Town, South Africa (28 March 2023) — If you ever needed motivation to get those pedals pumping, these cyclists might just be the David Goggins to your dust-collecting bike. 45 cyclists recently united, conquered and raised someone’s yearly salary for the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, and we couldn’t be more inspired by their sweat.
Team SPCA’s #Race2Rescue saw the cycling squad tackle the Cape Town Cycle Tour this month. Of course, the road was no casual cruise — unless of course, you’re superhuman and 109kms sounds like a breeze. Still, with a goal like keeping animals safe and inspectors making sure of this in mind, the cyclists unlocked their own superhuman abilities.
According to the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, the effort of pushing through the pain inspired them to keep going.
“It’s painful to witness the cruelty we see on a daily basis and we can’t help but feel inspired to keep pushing through that pain just like out Team SPCA cyclists until we realise a world where all animals are treated with kindness and compassion.” — Chief Inspector Jaco Pieterse.
The team earned over R175 000 for the mission, and we imagine animal lovers around the Cape are eyeing their own bicycles already.
