Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow… it also makes a better South Africa for all of us.
Dwayne received a phone call yesterday from Cecilia, a domestic worker who’s been helping him for the past 21 years, but actually been part of his family for over 31 years.
Cecilia was completely overwhelmed.
She had been shopping at her local store in Johannesburg when a random stranger stopped her and offered her all the stamps that she had collected for the pots and pans promotion.
“For every R100 you spend in a single transaction at a Pick n Pay Hypermarket in South Africa, you will receive a stamp. If you spend R200, you will receive two stamps, and so on. You’ll receive a leaflet with a collector’s card that you can stick the stamps onto. Once you have collected the required number of stamps per product, present your collector’s card at a Pick n Pay Hypermarket to redeem a FREE Royal VKB cookware item relevant to the number of stamps collected.”
Out of nowhere this random kind stranger had approached Cecilia and offered her something that she actually needed, and it was all because the kind lady felt so blessed that she still has her elderly Mother with her, that she wanted to bless someone else.
Cecilia was so completely in awe of this lady’s random act of kindness that she forgot to ask for her details so Dwayne contacted us in the hopes that we could find this good Samaritan together.
“To the lady (with her elderly Mother in her nineties) who stopped my Cecilia in the Hypermarket today, asking if she collects the pots and pans stamps and who gave her all the stamps she had in her purse. On top of that she also gave her a generous amount of cash, all of this out of the blue to a complete stranger. Saying she feels so blessed that she still has her elderly Mom with her that she felt like blessing someone else.
To this kindhearted lady…. of ALL the people in the Hypermarket today, you could not have chosen a more deserving, grateful, honest and reliable person for this blessing.
Cecilia said when she arrived home, the first thing she did was to go down on her knees to say thank you and to pray for you and your elderly Mom.
Thank you so much for your kind and generous heart. May you be forever blessed.”
