121 runners took part in a charity run for Rescue is Life and managed to raise R34,330 which will be used to host a sterilisation day.

Mitchells South Africa (08 May 2024) – Rescue is Life and Run/walk for Life teamed up for an animal charity run to raise funds to sterilize animals in the Mitchells Plain area. The event was a massive success and they managed to raise R34,330.

Over the weekend, 121 people took part in a 12km run all in the name of charity. Supporting Rescue is Life means they can touch the lives of so many animals in need. The funds raised will be going towards a mass sterilisation day. A similar one hosted at the PDSA premises in March saw 64 animals treated in one day.

“With these funds, we will hold another mass steri day, aiding those who cannot afford sterilisation. On this day, these funds allow Rescue is Life to give owners free deworming, tick and flea treatment and pet food for their animals along with free sterilisation.

Everyone really pulled through for the greater good” – Michelle Barnard, Rescue is Life.

Rescue is Life works to rescue, sterilise, rehabilitate and rehome animals in Cape Town. They work with dogs and cats, puppies and kittens!

They work to uplift communities where animals need help the most. If you would like to support their work, you can do so via Facebook here.
